Sustainability Library

A bookshelf loaded up with leather-bound sustainability knowledge.

At the MU Sustainability Office we are constantly looking at ways to serve YOU, the students on our campus. Starting May 20, 2019, we invite you in to check out a sustainability-focused book or DVD of your choice. Our office has over 80 titles to choose from including Merchants of Doubt and Our Threatened Oceans and Rubbish: The Archaeology of Garbage.

This free opportunity is available for students, staff and faculty with a valid MU ID. Only one book or DVD can be checked out at a time and it can be checked out for an entire month.

Is this service really free?

Yes! The only time we will charge someone is if the book is lost, severely damaged or never returned. If this happens the individual who checked out the book will be charged the value of that book or DVD, so that our office can purchase a replacement.

Can I donate to the sustainability library?

If you have a collection of sustainability-focused DVDs, books or audio books that you would like to part with, call our office at 573-882-8207 or email us at Our library is growing and we appreciate any donations you may provide.
